"cRoss iS bOss"
But "Cross is Boss" has taken on a bigger meaning than that....it has transcended the 'racer mantra' and floated into the zone where it goes above the racers single day when events actually happen. it has come full circle and been given to the 'non-racer'. I'm giving it to all the promoters across the US who pour their heart out making a vision come to reality. To all the volunteers who contribute a portion of their day, or the whole day and many times several days, to spend it without their family or friends. also any volunteer who sticks a surveyor flag in the ground making sure it's lined up with the one before it to the volunteer who is wears the 'race director' hat...for without any of them, Cyclocross racing in the US would not be what we know it to be! To all the non-cyclists who donate some of their time to come help their friends stand in a field, to the spouses, partners and children and all the cross enthusists who come together for the common goal of giving something back to this un-ordinary and beautiful sport. When you see them out there be sure to raise a strong fist in the air like an angry thunder cloud looking to throw out a bolt of lightning!
